I am a systems thinker, creator, advocate, and optimist.
We might have to face the consequences of a 1,5 degree global warming by 2026. The texile industry is responsible for 7% of the worlds´s greenhouse gas emissions. The climate crisis has reached unstoppable tipping points. One million species are threatened with extinction. We produce over 115 million tons of fibers every year. Recycling rates cannot keep up with the exploitation of resources. Ultra fast fashion orders are challenging global flight capacities. Hundreds of millions of people work in non-safe or underpaid conditions in global textile value chains. This industry I am so passionate about is responsible for extremely challenging environmental and social issues. But it can be done differently:
